The Annual Dinner and Awards Evening for Lancashire Golf took place on 17th October at the Worsley Marriott Hotel and what a night it turned out to be! Driving Girls’ Golf continues to move forward with a group of primary pupils from two local primary schools, St Brendan’s and Harwood Meadows. Building on the success of the programme launched earlier in the year with girls from Canon Slade, and working in partnership with Bolton Schools’ Alliance, three afternoons of golf were organised with 12 girls coming to try golf. What a sparkling day to host our annual Women’s Open Shotgun event! We had a full field of 18 teams, many visitors travelling quite a distance to enjoy our course. The annual overnight “picnic” for Harwood women took 32 of us to Wychwood Park near Crewe this year. Bolton Challenge Bowl competition is a very prestigious annual competition played over two days. It has been held in Bolton since the 1920s and was introduced by the Lever family, who still generously support the competition.
