“ I joined Harwood in May 2019. I’d never been interested in golf and hadn’t even hit a ball. But I decided to see what all the excitement was about and went along, on my own, to the ladies taster day. I didn’t know anyone but the welcome I received was overwhelming. At the same taster session was a group of girls (I call us all girls because we’re all young at heart at Harwood) who like me had never played golf before and soon we were hooked.
I now have 55 – and still counting – new friends who you can always rely on for a friendly game of golf.
If you’re worried about your standard of golf don’t be. We’re all learning and improving all the time. Wednesdays are our competition days and a chance to catch up over lunch and there are other opportunities to play and learn during the week.
There’s a great social side to Harwood Ladies with our annual weekend away, dinners, discos and presentation evenings. We even have our own choir!
I can’t finish without mentioning Dale. I think his proper title is PGA professional but to us he’s our brilliant and very patient coach who seems to be able to work magic and if you’re worried about not having the right “gear” don’t be you can get it from Dale’s shop!
