Driving Girls’ Golf

Driving Girls’ Golf continues to move forward with a group of primary pupils from two local primary schools, St Brendan’s and Harwood Meadows. Building on the success of the programme launched earlier in the year with girls from Canon Slade, and working in partnership with Bolton Schools’ Alliance, three afternoons of golf were organised with 12 girls coming to try golf. Dale organised a range of fun activities to develop confidence and skills and there were plenty of laughs along the way. The girls had a great time, putting, chipping and driving and were supported by staff from the schools and parents. The aim of Driving Girls’ Golf aims to encourage more young girls to give golf a go and we hope to see many of them back again next year to further develop their skills and enjoy this challenging sport. You never know what the future holds!
Two girls from Canon Slade, who enjoyed the coaching sessions launched in June, are working towards gaining a handicap and are on the Lancashire Golf pathway.
