Women's
Harwood Golf Club has an active women’s section made up of experienced golfers as well as those new to the game. We are a friendly bunch of individuals who enjoy the wider golf offer.
Our Mission: To provide an exceptional experience in golf by supporting, inspiring and delivering for our community of women golfers.
Our Vision: To establish Harwood Golf Club Women’s Section as the first-choice club for women seeking a new or first golf club through our commitment to provide an exceptional experience.
Our Values
H - Honesty with Happiness and Humour – acting with integrity, trust, reliability and fairness.
G - Golf for All – welcoming new to golf women and more experienced golfers alike, enabling everyone to be involved.
C - Community – friendly, welcoming and charitable to everyone.
W - Working Together for Excellence – making golf better for everyone, continuously improving, exceeding expectations and setting high standards.
S - Sustainability and Environment – always responsible and mindful of the environment.
We play both social and competitive golf at Harwood Golf Club. Competitions are mainly played on Wednesdays with provision for working women on Saturdays. We belong to a range of external organisations including the Bolton, Lancashire, East Lancashire and Manchester and District associations. This provides further opportunities to play at other courses in the area.
As a growing section, we organise social golf through regular roll ups. Our speciality is meeting for lunch on Wednesdays throughout the year (after golf or instead of, on occasions)!
There is a supportive network within the Club and our pathway from taster day to group coaching and integration into the Club is hugely successful (the envy of many other clubs). Equally important is our healthy social calendar, a few of which are reported below.

The players with the best combined gross scores over the two rounds went forward to play in the knockout. Playing in the… Read more »
